About Municipal Connection

Heartland Communications Group, Inc. began its magazine publishing division over 40 years ago. Contractors Hot Line was started in 1966 as a newsletter of sorts fulfilling the need of a construction worker looking for a way to make it possible for him to buy a piece of used construction equipment. As time passed and the newsletter became more widely accepted and used, it developed into the magazine format published today.

After 22 years, the Hot Line Construction Group started to grow significantly with the addition and development of several niche publications. In 1988, the Hot Line Equipment Guide was added to this group. The Parts Connection was first published as a separate publication in 1991. Its frequency increased from an annual issue to quarterly. Due to its popularity, in 2005 it became a bimonthly publication, and in 2006 increased to monthly. Parts Connection also premiered its own website, www.thepartsconnection.org. Crane Hot Line was spun off from the weekly Contractors Hot Line in 1997. It is now the premier monthly magazine exclusively serving the crane category of the construction industry. In 2006, Crane Hot Line partnered with another well known crane publication, Lift and Access to form one company, Maximum Capacity Media, LLC. To find out more please visit their website, www.cranehotline.com. During 2001, the first annual Hot Line Crane Guide was published. This pocket-sized guide, with almost 3,000 listings, has been well received by the construction industry. A need form the industry as well as end-users helped start the newest of our reference publications, Attachment Connection. Published quarterly, this publication in 2006 has grown from digest sized to full sized and features articles of interest, product news as well attachments in action. Attachment Connection premiered its own website in 2006, www.attachmentconnection.com.
